Nobody Will Stop You

(detail of ‘Cataclysm’, new work by Juan Travieso that will be on view at ‘Elsewhere’)

“Nobody will stop you from creating. Do it tonight. Do it tomorrow. That is the way to make your soul grow — whether there is a market for it or not! The kick of creation is the act of creating, not anything that happens afterward. I would tell all of you watching this screen: Before you go to bed, write a four line poem. Make it as good as you can. Don’t show it to anybody. Put it where nobody will find it. And you will discover that you have your reward.” -Kurt Vonnegut

Back on American soil and getting my act together for Elsewhere. The energy of the artists is infectious, and as a curator its incredible to see things fall into place.

Installation starts this week, and it’s been all hands on deck.

In addition to nails and hammers in hand, I’ve been writing my “four line poems”, working on posts, digesting new and exciting opportunities, but excuses aside I just wanted to check-in and let you know that I did not die at an East London rave and will be back in the swing of things shortly.

Wrap-Up Friday. And I hope to see your dewy-eyed faces next Thursday at the opening. ♥
