(Os Gêmeos and Blu mural in Lisbon)
This just in! A little birdie informed me that Brazilian artists, Os Gêmeos will be creating a mural in Boston next Wednesday, July 25th on the Rose Kennedy Greenway. The mural is set to go up on the large wall closest to Dewey Square, where Occupy Boston was holding down the fort last Fall.
The brothers are in town for the opening of their first solo exhibition in the United States at the ICA, which will be on view August 1st through November 25th.
“Best known as Os Gêmeos, the twins are a major force in graffiti and urban art. The twins have a deep bond; they are tireless collaborators and say that they often experience the same dreams. In an effort to share their dreams with the world, they depict their visions in surreal paintings, sculpture, and installations: human figures with removable faces, exploding bursts of color, and room-size heads installed with shanty interiors.”
I don’t have information on times yet for the mural (do you?), but I will keep you posted on all the action next Wednesday thanks to an unobstructed view of the wall from my ivory tower.
